Moodle, the world’s open source learning platform, will be co-hosting a live Q&A on Twitter with Moodle Founder and CEO Martin Dougiamas and World Vision’s Learning Manager for Social Entrepreneurship & Economic Development (SEED) Mark Harwood. They will be fielding questions regarding the use of the Moodle platform for distance education and World Vision’s Project model Accredited Learning & Support (PALS) Program which uses Moodle to help poor farmers increase their incomes.
To participate, all you have to do is tweet your question ensuring you include the hashtag #AskWVAMoodle. Martin and Mark will retweet the question before either tweet an answer so everyone can follow the Q&A. During the 30 minutes they will answer as many questions as they can. If this falls outside your timezone, you can still read the responses and contribute by the hashtag or Twitter handles.
PALS is an online community learning approach that delivers facilitated module based learning and support to World Vision economic development programming staff based in the field. For the successful initiative, Moodle’s online learning management system was adopted for the World Vision eCampus. This platform enabled 75 staff working in 15 countries and supporting approximately 35,000 smallholder farmer households to collaborate and support one another throughout the implementation of their projects. The participants worked through facilitated problem-based eWorkshops to develop their skills and share experiences in order to support one another to help poor farmers increase their household incomes.
Our Twitter Q&A will be your chance to ask Martin and Mark about distance learning, remote learning, Moodle’s accessibility as a free open source platform and the challenges and rewards in overcoming the challenges faced by the World Vision SEEDs program to provide the assistance to rural communities.
