World’s open source learning platform gathers edtech innovators in London

March 29, 2017

Moodle – the most used learning platform in Europe – will host another MoodleMoot conference in London in April.

MoodleMoot UK & Ireland 2017, held from 10 – 12 April 2017 at the Park Plaza Riverbank, London, will bring together global and local edtech innovators and educators to showcase the latest in online learning.

Over 100 presentations will be showcased at the conference by educators and thinkers from leading institutions such as Open University UK and China, Dublin City University, and Kyoto, Kuwait and Australian universities and colleges, to name a few.

Up to 350 people are expected to attend this year’s MoodleMoot UK & Ireland – ranging from teachers, academics, instructional designers and system administrators – all eager to share best practice and innovative online learning methods for their organisations and institutions.

Moodle Founder and CEO, Dr Martin Dougiamas, commented on the importance of MoodleMoots in the UK/Ireland and invites teachers, trainers and all educators to be part of this leading edtech conference.

“MoodleMoots are the place to recharge your practice,” said Martin.

“It is the place to discover the state of the art in online learning, meet peers using Moodle in other institutions, and share discoveries in an open, inclusive environment.”

“We have been running our edtech conferences in the UK and Ireland for a number of years, with an aim to expand our mission of empowering educators with powerful, flexible tools for collaborative online learning.”

“Moodle invites and welcomes everyone interested in this space to join us, our global community and other edtech innovators, at MoodleMoot UK & Ireland from 10 – 12 April.”

Presentations on creating simulation learning, developing employable students using authentic and active learning experiences and how to create a successful form of academic training for degree apprenticeships are just some of the headline topics to be presented at the upcoming conference.

In addition, conversations on meeting the increasing trend of mobile learning and the latest innovations in Moodle to meet the changing need of our 21st century and future learners, will also be a focus.

MoodleMoot UK & Ireland will run over three days, complete with the above mentioned presentations, dev jams, masterclasses and workshops.
