A new capability in Moodle 3.4 means educators can mark activities complete for learners!

November 21, 2017 By Moodle

We have talked about many improvements to functionalities in Moodle 3.4 that are focussed on increasing usability in our learning platforms.

We’re very pleased to also introduce a new capability in Moodle 3.4 – ‘Override activity completion status’ which allows educators to mark activities complete (or incomplete) on behalf of their learners.

There may be a number of reasons why the activities are not marked complete yet. Perhaps the educator wants to use their own criteria to manually mark the forum activity complete.

Perhaps the learner did the assignment offline and is not currently able to access the course.

To mark these activities complete, all an educator needs to do is click into the boxes next to the appropriate student.

As you can see from the image below, when an educator is about to mark activities complete or incomplete a confirmation window will show up on their screen to verify the action.

Note that when they appear complete, the box has a red border to show this is a teacher-marked completion.
