What is a MoodleMoot™?

Modified on Fri, 10 Nov 2023 at 04:27 AM

A MoodleMoot is a conference about the Moodle Learning Management System and related products.

MoodleMoot conferences are held around the world and have been run globally since 2004, with a focus on encouraging collaboration and sharing of best practices of the open source learning platform between Moodle community members.

MoodleMoots™ are a place for the community to connect with peers, explore ideas and learn from each other. Moodle wants to encourage the Moodle community to raise awareness and adoption of our open source platform and to collaborate to help advance it, so that it can better support our mission to empower educators to improve our world.

MoodleMoot conferences bring together the Moodle Community in each region to share best practices and improve the quality of education and training globally. They can be online or face to face. The aim of these events is to bring together professionals within the Education, Research, Development, Workplace Training and EdTech sectors to share, learn and connect with the Moodle community.

Today, Moodle HQ (the driving organisation behind the Moodle project) currently organises the yearly MoodleMoot Global conference. And local MoodleMoots™ are run worldwide by:

  • Moodle Community members.

  • Moodle Partners or other Moodle users who organise Official MoodleMoots™ (supported and endorsed by Moodle HQ)
