The 3-day event, hosted by Université catholique de Louvain, focused on three main topics:
- how Moodle affects the learner/teacher relationship
- how Moodle can develop the learners’ creativity, critical thinking and engagement as citizens
- Moodle as an open tool to share knowledge and skills.
Delegates had the chance to attend presentations, demos, workshops and get the latest updates from some Moodle Partners – Edunao and Enovation.
During MootFR18, on July 5th, our CEO and Founder Martin Dougiamas was awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa by the Université catholique de Louvain, in a ceremony where he said that the award belonged to the whole Moodle community and everyone who is contributing to the project.
It was such a tremendous personal honour to receive the Doctor Honoris Causa from UCL today for my work on Moodle, but as I said in my acceptance speech, it is really for all Moodlers ❤ #mootfr18 pic.twitter.com/HczkgncVgA

In words of one of the Moot organizers, Philippe Neyt, the Moot was an “exceptional human experience and a unique team-building activity”, where the French-speaking Moodlers shared experiences, tips and knowledge, learnt from each other and also had a lot of fun together in a lively and collaborative environment.
