Last month we had a look at the current major works in Moodle 3.4 that our developers and community members are working on.
As our chief Moodler explained in his keynote presentations at recent MoodleMoots, we are focussing our core development on usability.
We are also currently working towards releasing Moodle 3.4 by the second Monday of November, as outlined in our development process.
Let’s do a quick recap as to what the current major works for Moodle 3.4 are:
- Usability improvements for course overview/dashboard, based on feedback after our Moodle 3.3 release
- Promoting our Mobile App in Moodle core, so that there is increased visibility and communications that you can access your Moodle sites on mobile devices
- Adding Inspire Analytics to Moodle Core, which is currently available as a plugin in Moodle 3.3
- Merging participants and enrolled users, so that they are easy to find, can be filtered for quick search and results and allows for important actions, such as messaging or enrolling in one location
- Improvements to dynamic scss compilation / caching (for all developers)
- Adding next / previous links to activities for course where there is a natural flow of information from one activity to the next. This replaces the current drop down navigation box
- Improvements to the Calendar, which is a Moodle Users Association project, and involves functionalities such as in-page editing of events. You can stay up to date through our Moodle tracker.
