We explore the wonders of Moodle with Wonder Wednesday

December 22, 2017

All aboard Moodle’s learning journey!

This year, we’ve been taking our Moodlers around the world to explore the several wonders of Moodle….we call it #WonderWednesday.

Weekly we show the different ways global organisations of all sizes use Moodle.

Our hope is that sharing these stories will inspire and educate Moodlers, and possibly even improve how they use our open source platform.

Let’s take a look at some of the stories we have shared so far:

CLL Language Centre
We found out how flexible Moodle really is and how it was used to support personalised learning that can be adapted to over 3,500 learners’ professional objectives globally.

The CLL Language center shared how they made Moodle suit their needs with the help of our Moodle Partner in the UK and Ireland, Enovation.

Professional Development Service for Teachers (PDST)
PDST was another organisation which used the services of our Moodle Partner Enovation for their Moodle.

We explored how they used the platform to address potential problems before they arose using a proactive monitoring and alerting system.

School Based Mentorship Program
In November we crossed over to Rwanda, Africa, to find out how Moodle was used to empower 148 primary school teachers.

When faced with the challenges of finding a cost effective and powerful platform to suit their needs including SCORM companility, the project leadership team turned to Moodle.

Cochise College
Cochise College is a community college located in southeast Arizona, the United States, with a student population of around 12,000.

With the help of US Moodle Partner, eThink Education, Cochise College improved staff understanding of Moodle, whilst also piloting the delivery of Open Education Resource (OER) content through their Moodle courses.

TAFE NSW
Back in Australia, we shared the story of how TAFE NSW is using Moodle to support future builders.

We found out how obstacles such as cost, time limitations and distance were overcome with activity reports, learning analytics and more in Moodle.

Otago University
Scott Hallman and the team at Otago University, New Zealand, asked the question “how can you create learning objectives using Moodle quiz templates?”

They shared with us (and the MoodleMoot Australia attendees) how they approached this challenge and the results.
