Founded in 1975, Dallah Driving Company is one of the leading Saudi companies specialising in training drivers for exceptional driving skills, prepping them for over ten regions across Saudi Arabia.

Their training enhances their driving skills to higher levels and promotes awareness and respect for traffic rules, resulting in a safe environment for all. Dallah currently licences more than 250,000 trainees annually.

The objectives of Dallah are as follows:

  • Provide professional services in a suitable educational environment.
  • Raise the quality of driving training to align with Saudi Arabia’s aspirations and the goals outlined in Vision 2030.
  • Ensure all services follow the highest quality, efficiency, and transparency standards.
  • Provide services to the community on the local, regional, and international levels.

The challenges: Lack of accommodation and the global pandemic

When Dallah started its operation, it enrolled trainees in theoretical and practical vehicle driving lessons. Trainees used to attend on-site for both classes. However, there were some difficulties with this.

Dallah faced a critical challenge during the onset of Covid-19. Because of social distancing measures, only 15 learners would fit in the training hall. However, the number of participants who applied was much higher, so Dallah needed more training halls for the participants interested in learning to drive.

Even as Covid-19 restrictions were lifted and life was returning to normal, Dallah realised that the number of trainees was rising. So, they had to create different timings to fit their available training rooms. This wasn’t an ideal solution for everyone.

The solution: Implementing Moodle Workplace through Eummena for a highly customised online training system

The Moodle Workplace platform was integrated by Eummena, a premium Moodle Partner, to provide an advanced tool for workplace learning that caters to Dallah’s programmes and training flow. The solution was designed for flexibility and customised according to Dallah’s size, structure and needs.

Moodle Workplace provided Dallah with exclusive features like Programmes to create specific learning paths with multiple completion criteria and Dynamic rules to automate the learning process management, leaving more time for their trainers to focus on what matters most — training.

By resorting to online training, more learners could be present per session without managing more coaches and many sessions for the same topics at different times.

The result: A streamlined end-to-end learning experience

Moodle has enabled driving school students to access high-quality online learning regardless of their proximity to the Dallah centre.

Additionally, the platform provides Dallah’s team with tools to manage learners’ engagement, class participation, and attendance all in one place.

The appointment booking feature on Moodle Workplace ensures that the online training is aligned with the face-to-face sessions required for obtaining a driver’s licence.

The BigBlueButton Virtual Classroom platform, fully integrated with Moodle Workplace, is used to conduct online live sessions, providing trainers and trainees with an interactive and user-friendly environment.
