Join us for Moodle’s 15th Birthday!

August 11, 2017 By Abby Fry

Circle 20 August in your diaries or set a reminder on your phones, as it is Moodle’s 15th Birthday!

Who remembers this first post in moodle.org from 20 August 2002 from our Founder and CEO, Martin Dougiamas, releasing Moodle 1.0?

We’ve come a long way since then!

For one thing, we are now on Moodle 3.3 and from that first original post where Martin worked on Moodle by himself, we now have over 40 staff at Moodle HQ, located around the world and of course, a global, supportive community.

For those who have recently joined our Moodle community of global users, supporters, developers, administrators, teachers…you might want to fast track 15 years of Moodle by reading our history page on moodle.org.

And for those who are super familiar with Moodle, we also recently added highlights of the 2016 and 2017 years on the same history page.

Talking about our community site, who else remembered the original look of our community site from 2003?

And talking about remembering things, what are some of your memorable Moodle moments from the last 15 years?

We want to hear all about it and capture all your valuable anecdotes and memories as we gear up for another 10 years and more of Moodle!

So join us in celebrating Moodle’s 15th birthday by sharing your favourite moments, photos, images or posting a birthday message through one of the following channels:

Thanks Moodlers!

We look forward to hearing your Moodle stories, moments and seeing images that sends us back through our 15 years journey.
