Manage your private files better in Moodle 3.4.

November 20, 2017 By Moodle

The latest Moodle update, Moodle 3.4, has focused on enhancing usability. In keeping with this theme, private files are now easier to manage through the ability for users to find out how much space is available in them.

Educators and learners can now quickly see how much space is left in their own private files in Moodle 3.4.

When users upload or drop and drag files to their Moodle site, a message indicating how much storage remains, will be displayed. This feature will assist Moodle users in managing their Private files more easily.

This is highlighted in the below image, where a learner is checking their private files via the navigation drawer. In their private files this learner can easily identify their remaining space within the blue box.

When the learner drags in a video and a presentation to her private files she can see that her available space automatically decreases to reflect the new additions.

Note: Your private file storage space information is only available to teachers and learners, not administrators.
