Mobile learning accessible for all: WCAG 2.1AA Certified
To ensure that Moodle is accessible for all learners no matter the device they use to access their courses, this new release had a strong focus on improving the accessibility of the app. After being audited by external Digital Accessibility Specialists WebKeyIT, Moodle App 3.9.5 is now officially certified as compliant with WCAG 2.1 AA, the latest Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) of the World Wide Web Consortium.
Late in 2020, Moodle LMS also achieved WCAG 2.1 AA certification, so organisations who use the latest version of our LMS, whether on desktop or on the Moodle App, can now provide seamless learning experiences that accommodate individual differences.
View activity due dates and requirements at a glance
The latest release of our Moodle App includes the Student Activity Completion feature that we recently launched in Moodle 3.11. This provides clear, easy-to-spot requirements and deadlines for activities on the course page, so that students can easily see what they need to do to complete each task or assignment and organise their time accordingly.
Improvements in Essay questions
Just like in Moodle LMS 3.11, students working on an Essay question on the Moodle App can now see the minimum and maximum word counts for their question answers, and will get a message if they don’t meet the requirements. And, if your Moodle site has a plagiarism detector plugin installed, it will also display plagiarism information when writing an Essay in the App.
