MoodleMoot US 2016 starts today!

June 22, 2016 By Moodle

#MootUS16 has kicked off at Hilton Universal City, Los Angeles for an action packed three days of workshops and presentations.

Tuesday is workshop day. A number of preconference masterclasses are held, including; Mobile learning, Assessment strategies, Learning analytics and MOOC design. Hackfest also commences, providing developers with an exciting opportunity to brainstorm future developments at Moodle with the experienced developers from HQ and other Moodle community experts.

The second and third days of #MootUS16 will be dedicated to presentations. These will be facilitated by experts from Moodle HQ in conjunction with consultants from Moodle Partners. Attendees will participate in a wide range of topics that span the gamut of EdTech.

  • San Francisco State University will share the lessons they’ve learnt using Moodle for over ten years, with 91% of their student population now using Moodle for online activities.
  • For those who are curious about the recently formed Moodle Users Association, Nick Thompson (Chairperson) and Joseph Thibault (committee member), will provide insight into the inner workings of the community and project development process.
  • However if you want more, there will be presentations on a range of other topics including institutional adoption, Moodle administration, instructional course design, staff training, research and the plans for one of Moodle’s most popular plug-ins.

We can’t wait to see the incredible things people are doing with Moodle.

This year’s US MoodleMoot was generously supported by the sponsors Blindside Networks, eThink Education, Elearning Experts, EvaluationKIT, Lambda Solutions, Microsoft, Medial, Moodlerooms, Moonami, Respondus, WIRIS Math, Vidya Mantra and Proctorio. We can’t thank these organisations enough for their support in making Moodle Moot US 2016 an exciting and dynamic event.
