New Zealand’s open source technologists partner with the world’s learning platform to deliver edtech services in Australia and the UK

June 19, 2017

Catalyst – a New Zealand-owned and operated IT company – today announced the expansion of their partnership with Moodle to include their learning management expertise in Australia and the UK.

Together, both organisations will continue to deliver advanced edtech tools that empower educators of all kinds.

Catalyst’s commitment to working with their clients to achieve the best outcomes and opportunities have seen them grow as leading open source technologists in New Zealand, and the establishment of branch presences in both Australia and the UK.

Catalyst first became a Certified Moodle Partner in 2005 and since then have used Moodle’s open source learning platform to provide high-quality edtech and technology solutions. Being a company of technologists that have grown to 250 staff worldwide, Catalyst is a specialist in large scale Moodle development, integration, hosting and long-term support.

Mike O’Connor, Catalyst’s Chairman, commented on the expanded partnership with Moodle.

“Being a long-standing Moodle contributor from our New Zealand’s roots, we are thrilled to bring our UK and Australia divisions into Moodle’s Partner Programme,” commented Mike.

“As specialists in the delivery of open source solutions, we know Moodle to be a stand-out for representing the best values of open source projects.”

“It is exciting that we can work closely with Moodle to help, where we can, to continue Moodle’s charge and mission into Australia and the UK.”

Martin Dougiamas, Founder and CEO of Moodle, said: “I congratulate Catalyst on their achievement of becoming a Certified Moodle Services Provider in Australia and the UK,”

“We have been working in partnership with Catalyst over the last 12 years to provide quality edtech solutions to many of New Zealand’s education institutions, organisations and workplaces.”

“We are now looking forward to working more together to meet the continued demand for digital education in Australia and the UK through the provision of powerful and flexible tools in Moodle.”

Catalyst will continue to offer their current suite of Moodle services – including end to end project consulting, managed hosting, custom development, design and theme services and training – for the Australian and UK markets.
