MoodleMoot Africa is set to return this September! The conference will be held from 25 to 27 September 2024 at the Radisson Blu Convention Centre in Johannesburg OR Tambo, South Africa. Hosted by the University of South Africa (Unisa) in collaboration with five other prominent African universities, this year’s event promises to be even more impactful and inspiring than ever.
MoodleMoot Africa 2024 is a unique opportunity for the Moodle community across Africa and beyond to meet, share best practices, and enhance the quality of eLearning in a digitally connected world. This year, we are excited to have six co-hosting universities: Botswana Open University, Namibia University of Science & Technology, National Open University of Nigeria, Open University of Tanzania, University of KwaZulu-Natal, and the University of South Africa.
A convergence of minds
Our theme, “Uniting African universities to reclaim Africa’s intellectual futures and create sustainable African digital solutions,” shows our commitment to collaboration and innovation across the continent. Attendees will gain insights from an impressive lineup of keynote speakers, including:
- Ms. Mathabo Nakene-Mginqi, Unisa’s Vice Principal: ICT and Chief Information Officer
- Prof Puleng LrnkaBula – Unisa’s Principal and Vice -Chancellor – will be a Keynote Speaker at the MoodleMoot Africa 2024.
- Dr. Martin Dougiamas, Founder and Head of Research at Moodle
- Professor Gbolagade Adekanmbi, Dean of the School of Education at the Botswana Open University, and the University’s Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Services
- Professor Olufemi Peters, Fellow of the Chemical Society of Nigeria and first Vice President of the African Council for Distance Education (ACDE)
- Professor Alex Makulilo, Professor of law, technology and innovation at the Open University of Tanzania
These sessions will cover a range of topics, including Moodle LMS implementation, pedagogy, course design, and the latest trends in online education.
