We are pleased to announce Aurelie Soulier as our new Moodle Community Engagement Lead. With an in-depth knowledge of Moodle and a passion for learner wellbeing, Aurelie will be proactively growing Moodle’s open source community engagement.
Over the last 15 years, Aurelie has been working in digital education. Her background is both in teaching and computing, having postgraduate qualifications in both areas. She has worked in mainly UK Higher Education Institutions, including Cranfield University, the Defence Academy of the UK, the Royal Agricultural University and University College London.
Growing the Moodle community
Aurelie is no stranger to the world of Moodle. She has been working with Moodle since 2006 and is also a member of the Moodle User Association, serving on its committee for one year. She has also worked with our Moodle Partner, Catalyst IT.
Without the Moodle community, our growth and reach would not have come as far as it has today. As an open source LMS that is free to download, modify and share with others, Moodle LMS is the ultimate expression of the values that unite our community.
Within the role of Moodle Community Engagement Lead, Aurelie will be researching and planning initiatives to enhance community engagement. She will help to foster a positive culture of collaboration to implement initiatives, recognising contributions and ensuring voices are heard.
In this role, Aurelie will bring her empathy with the end-user, project management experience, and enthusiastic and approachable personality to enhance Moodle community engagement. Aurelie’s focus is to ensure digital learning design is based around human interaction rather than solely on tools.
Her main areas of interest are digital assessment and feedback, professional development and learning design using open-source digital platforms. Aurelie also places a particular emphasis on pedagogies of care, human touch and wellbeing.
We are delighted for Aurelie to join our mission to give educators a way to create quality eLearning experiences in her role of engaging with the community at the heart of Moodle.
