When Annelies Dejonckheere speaks about education, she speaks with the kind of conviction that only comes when you are deeply committed to a mission. She has devoted her career to finding solutions to how students engage during a lecture and what happens after the lecture ends.
She explains, “It’s really about helping educators and trainers turn their audience from passive listeners to active learners.”
And in her role as Head of Expansion at Wooclap, it all comes down to human impact — specifically for the education community.
Making learning awesome and effective is super simple!
At her core, Annelies is a problem-solver, and it shows in how she and her team work together. They identify, strategise and launch Wooclap into new international markets. They are driven by the duty to provide the best tools to educators and trainers.
On the one hand, Wooclap provides a platform to insert real-time polls, word clouds, and quizzes directly into their presentations. On the other hand, Wooclap’s sister tool, Wooflash, is the answer to tackling the ‘forgetting curve’.
As an AI-powered individual study platform, Wooflash helps students remember what they learn. Instead of reading notes again and again, Wooflash makes students practice recalling answers and reminds them when it’s the best time to review.
Still, Annelies points out that no matter which tools you use, the biggest learning motivator is human connection.
It’s very human to teach and to learn
Annelies wants to see everyone around her, including her colleagues, to thrive. She’s devoted to her role and considers it genuinely meaningful.
With her amazing team at Wooclap, she works every day to ensure that educators and instructors who are brilliant at their craft find a trusted partner, so they can use technology to amplify their teaching.
Wooclap’s entire platform is built on the principles of strengthening human connection, not replacing it, using AI tools that remove friction and handle logistical hurdles, freeing up time and energy for genuine human interaction.
In Annelies’s opinion, AI should only be a catalyst. The rich, meaningful discussion comes from the diverse mix of student voices, backgrounds, and perspectives that follow.
She is just as enthusiastic about the people, the energy, and the engagement at MoodleMoot Global. And of course, speaking to an attentive audience will be the highlight of the event!
