They say you can gauge the quality of a leader by listening to the way they talk about their team — and six months after being named CEO of IntelliBoard, Becky Keith has plenty to share.
“My favourite part of working here? The people, without question,” she says. “They inspire me every single day, and I couldn’t be prouder to lead them.”
Becky describes feeling honoured to work alongside individuals who are deeply committed to one another, to their clients and to improving outcomes for learners across the globe. Together, they deliver products that educational institutions truly need; tools that make a real difference.
“The way clients respond to our team is a testament to the relationships they’ve built through trust and empathy,” she continues. “We’re a lot like Moodle in that way: we’re on a mission to make the world better through education.”
Not long ago, we connected with Becky to learn more about her and get a preview of IntelliBoard’s MoodleMoot Global sessions — and the timing couldn’t have been better. What we discovered is that behind every feature and use case, there’s a deeper story about using data to drive meaningful change.
Using data for good
Becky has been an edtech aficionado for more than 23 years, beginning her journey in the classroom.
“I started out as a high school Spanish teacher and loved integrating technology into my classroom,” she says. “That passion for edtech has stayed with me all these years, and it fuels the work we do at IntelliBoard today.”
In her eight years with the company, Becky has seen ideas go from the drawing board to deployment. She’s worked closely with the product, solutions consulting, engineering, quality assurance, marketing and client success teams, gaining a unique perspective along the way.
“A lot of us are educators at heart,” she says, her voice brimming with enthusiasm. “We exist to improve outcomes by transforming complicated metrics into clear, actionable insights that educators can use right away.”
Too often, educators and advisors don’t realise a student is in academic trouble until midterm, or even the end of a semester, when it’s too late to intervene.
“Students don’t always know they’re falling behind or at risk of losing a scholarship,” Becky explains. “By making data easier to understand, we empower educators to step in much earlier. And it’s not just instructors who benefit. Role-based dashboards give advisors, administrators, and leaders the insights they need to spot risks, track outcomes, and focus on what matters most to them.”
Foresight is a springboard
In education, change is constant, especially when it comes to new laws that add responsibilities without extra resources. For already stretched institutions, compliance can feel overwhelming. That’s why foresight matters. IntelliBoard helps clients stay ahead.
In July 2025, lawmakers passed “Leon’s Law”, requiring all 58 community colleges in the state to share progress updates on dual-enrolled high school students with parents. However, institutions would not receive any extra funding to help them meet their new reporting requirements.
“North Carolina is the third largest community college system in the US,” explains Becky, “and community colleges have one of the most important missions — providing accessible education for all, often with very limited budgets.”
IntelliBoard had already been working closely with NCCCS to deploy learning analytics at scale, powering Title IV funding, dual enrollment, veteran support, and more. When the law passed, schools didn’t need to scramble. They already had the tools.
“Because we’d already solved the challenge of dual-enrollment data visibility, we were able to give colleges a solution right away,” says Becky. “That means they can meet their new obligations with less stress and more confidence as they start the school year.”
Now, thanks to IntelliBoard’s proactive approach, educators and parents can spot potential setbacks and give students the timely support they need to stay on track. That’s not just compliance, it’s impact.
Gearing up for MoodleMoot Global
IntelliBoard began as a Moodle plugin roughly a decade ago — in fact, the company will officially celebrate its 10th birthday on September 15, just one day before MoodleMoot Global kicks off.
“We deeply believe in Moodle’s mission and want to support its global community,” says Becky. “MoodleMoots are a chance to listen, learn, and contribute back to the community that has helped shape our journey. I can’t wait to reconnect with everyone in Edinburgh.”
At MoodleMoot Global this year, Becky’s sessions will highlight the metrics that matter, plus strategies higher ed and corporate leaders can use to boost learner progress and retention.
