Who’s presenting at MoodleMoot Global? Meet Sascha Benson-Cooper from Accipio

September 10, 2025 By Jeanne Loganbill

It’s one thing to reach the top and another to lift others to your level, and far too often, people pull up the ladder after they find success. Sometimes, though, we meet a “rope thrower” — someone who lowers a line to make the climb easier for others. Someone like Sascha Benson-Cooper.

Sascha loves watching people succeed. With a long-standing background in management consultancy, he’s seen first-hand how people thrive when they’re given the right opportunities to grow and develop.

“My approach is to get people to a decent level, then give them freedom to self-determine with safety rails as needed,” he explains. “That’s important for growth — people need to learn and make mistakes, but with support along the way.”

Recently, we sat down with Sascha to find out more about his approach to leadership and how his drive to help people flourish led to the creation of learning and performance consultancy Accipio.

For me, the most interesting human conundrum is, ‘How can we become better?’ Not everyone gets the chance to be their full self, and I want to help change that. Sascha Benson Cooper. Image

Nurturing growth and human potential

“Leaders don’t all have to fit one mould,” says Sascha. “If you’re a leader, you already have positional power, but you should play to your strengths — whether they’re people-focused or analytical. Play to what makes you great.”

Sascha’s receptive, adaptable approach to bringing out the best in people has shaped his recruitment strategy at Accipio. He describes building a hothouse for talent and hiring unique people with positive mindsets that inspire those around them.

“It’s that analogy of watching a fish try and climb a tree, right?” he says with a smile. “Doesn’t mean a fish isn’t great — everyone brings something unique to the table.”

Sascha then points out that the very reason Accipio exists is to help people realise their full potential. It’s also the driving force behind Accipio’s sister company, Aicura, which delivers leadership programmes, including regulated qualifications and apprenticeships.

“For me, the most interesting human conundrum is, ‘How can we become better?’” he says. “Not everyone gets the chance to be their full self, and I want to help change that.”

Building potential with Accipio

Learning management systems can be incredibly powerful, but usually work best with a little fine-tuning; according to Sascha and his team, many organisations struggle to create scalable experiences that learners actually enjoy. They also need robust compliance tracking tools and data insights that make sense, but don’t always find native LMS analytics easy to use.

For many organisations, Accipio can be the perfect solution.

“As a Moodle Premium Certified Partner, we design, build and optimise learning ecosystems using Moodle and our own Accipio One extensions,” explains Sascha. “We help corporations, educational institutions, healthcare organisations and government agencies deliver engaging learning experiences while managing compliance and driving measurable business impact.”

One of the biggest reasons organisations choose Moodle is the platform’s flexibility — it adapts to their processes, not the other way around. Accipio takes this even further with Accipio One.

With Accipio One, you can access improved features across e-commerce by easily monetising your learning content, simplify assessment and internal quality assurance, and track, evidence and manage regulatory obligations to boost compliance and reporting. Accipio One’s content management system means you can also deliver a richer, more dynamic learning experience, plus tailor learning journeys and gain deeper insights via personalisation and diagnostics.

Accipio has one of the largest Moodle development teams in the UK, working closely with clients to design and build genuinely innovative solutions. They don’t just customise Moodle — they make it do exactly what their clients need it to do.

“It’s all about unlocking potential — both for our clients and our team,” says Sascha. “I love seeing the moment when a complex challenge clicks into place, whether it’s scaling a learning platform for thousands of learners or enabling personalised development pathways that truly make a difference. Being able to help organisations reimagine what’s possible with Moodle is incredibly rewarding.”

And when it comes to support, Accipio sets the standard. Unlimited support packages have delivered average first-response times under 10 minutes over the last three years, backed by a 24/7 follow-the-sun support model to ensure you’re covered whenever you need help.

Making the most of MoodleMoot Global

“MoodleMoot is more than a conference — it’s a community,” says Sascha. “We’ve built so much of our success on collaboration, and MoodleMoot gives us a chance to give back, share insights, and learn from others shaping the future of learning.”

At MoodleMoot Global, Sascha’s presentations will focus on automating assessment quality assurance, delivering apprenticeships, using AI to transform admin, support and learning, and monetising Moodle.

We’re looking forward to hearing Sascha speak in person next week — and if you’d like to join us, there’s still time to register. We’ll see you soon!
