Join the Filipino Moodle community online for #MootPH21

April 1, 2021 By Júlia Verdaguer

MoodleMoot Philippines is an event dedicated to users, developers and administrators of our open source Moodle LMS. In 2021, it’s taking place online on April 26-30

Organised by our Certified Moodle Partner in the Philippines Nephila Web, MoodleMoot Philippines Online 2021 brings together Moodle users and education experts for a series of presentations, workshops and networking sessions about education, learning technologies and Moodle.

An event to enhance education together

In 2020, all kinds of organisations were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced the closure of schools and business, disrupting the learning journey of students and impacting everyone’s lives with drastic changes” said Sheryl Villaroman, President and CEO of Nephila Web Technologies.

For this year’s #MootPH21, with the theme “Let’s Weave Learners Who Thrive with Moodle”, the organisers are bringing together all the Moodlers in the Philippines to learn, develop, collaborate and thrive together, especially during this time of pandemic.

Sessions to thrive in online learning

The aim of #MootPH21 is to help people gain knowledge about Moodle LMS, since this open source platform is currently being used in many schools and organisations in the country to continue teaching and learning during closures. The program includes live, online full-day workshops, live keynotes with local and international experts and live and pre-recorded sessions on topics such as:

  • Application of Curriculum and Program Design in Moodle
  • Using Moodle for online and blended learning
  • Instructional Design
  • Safe exam browser demonstration
  • Adaptive design in Moodle
  • and many more…

Our CEO and Founder, Martin Dougiamas, will join the virtual conference to deliver a live keynote – as well as our Education Manager Mary Cooch, Education Advisor Anna Krassa and our Moodle Apps Product Manager Juan Leyva.

Networking with educators and Moodlers

MoodleMoot Philippines 2021 is a fully virtual conference, which means there will be plenty of opportunities to connect with other Moodlers from the Philippines and from all around the world. “People will be able to experience that even physically apart we still can thrive socially together. We have prepared lots of surprises which participants surely will enjoy!“ said Sheryl. Watch out for surprises, collectible points to exchange in a MootPH21 shop, and more!

Since its beginnings, Moodlemoot Philippines has focused on open education and this year is not different, and many of the sessions in the program are free to attend.
