We’re pleased to announce that Moodle for Government has achieved FedRAMP® Ready status and is now available on the FedRAMP Marketplace. A dedicated learning ecosystem powered by Moodle Workplace, Moodle for Government is scalable, customisable and highly secure, making it a robust solution for United States public sector agencies looking to enhance onboarding, mission-critical training initiatives and workforce development.

Here, we’ll explain what FedRAMP Ready means, why Moodle for Government’s listing on the FedRAMP Marketplace is important for U.S. government agencies, and how Moodle for Government helps make learning more secure.

What does FedRAMP Ready mean?

FedRAMP is the U.S. government’s standardised approach to security assessment and continuous monitoring for cloud-based products and services, including learning management systems. Achieving FedRAMP Ready status marks an important milestone in Moodle for Government’s journey to becoming a FedRAMP Authorised solution.

When products and services are listed as FedRAMP Ready, it means they’ve been independently assessed and found to align with federal readiness and security requirements for cloud based solutions. Government agencies looking to adopt new solutions can be confident that products and services listed on the FedRAMP Marketplace are secure and trustworthy.

Scalable, secure learning for government

Public sector organisations require learning solutions that can support everything from onboarding and compliance training to professional development and large-scale workforce initiatives. Moodle for Government is built specifically for those demands: a flexible, accessible platform that adapts to each agency’s operational needs without sacrificing usability or control.

Delivering learning at this scale also requires a strong foundation of security, trust and responsible platform management, all of which are central to how Moodle solutions are built and developed. Rather than treating security as an add-on, Moodle for Government follows a “security by design” approach and is fully compliant with Section 508 and WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards. This supports strong data protection, ongoing monitoring and responsible platform management from the ground up.

“Moodle’s new status as FedRAMP Ready provides U.S. agencies with a trusted, secure path to LMS modernisation,” said Amy Tessitore, Director of Global Services Delivery. “Now available in the FedRAMP Marketplace, Moodle for Government delivers the scalability and security required by the public sector to enhance workforce development and ensure mission-critical training is delivered effectively and securely.”

Looking ahead

We’re proud to serve the public sector and remain committed to strengthening our work with government partners. As Moodle for Government continues progressing toward FedRAMP Authorisation, we’ll share further updates along the way.
