Shape the future of learning at MoodleMoot Global 2025: Call for proposals now open

April 28, 2025 By Barnana Sarkar

We’re excited to announce that the call for proposals for MoodleMoot Global 2025 is now open! Join us from 16–18 September 2025 at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) in Scotland. We’re building a dynamic, future-focused program, and there’s plenty of room to get involved.

This year’s theme: Learning to shape tomorrow

This year, we’re working with the powerful idea that learning isn’t just a way to keep pace with change—it’s how we create it.

Learning to Shape Tomorrow reminds us that education is an act of optimism. Every lesson, every conversation, every community we build is a step toward shaping a better future.

At MoodleMoot Global 2025, we’re not just exploring how education adapts to an evolving world — we’re learning how to shape that future with purpose, creativity, and collaboration.

Who should submit a proposal?

If you’re passionate about education, technology, and the future of learning, this is your moment. Whether you work in higher education, corporate learning, government, non-profits, or EdTech, we’re looking for people who want to share fresh ideas, creative strategies, and practical tools.

You don’t have to be a Moodle expert — if you have insights that can help others design better learning experiences, drive engagement, or navigate change, we want you in the conversation!

What kind of sessions are we looking for?

This year, the program is organised into two streams:

  • Expanding knowledge — for those in higher education
  • Evolving skills — focused on organisational training

Within those streams, we’re inviting sessions that connect with one or more of these four themes:

  • Engaging learners — creative strategies to capture attention and make learning meaningful
  • Social learning — ways to build collaboration and stronger online learning communities
  • Design for tomorrow — accessible, mobile-friendly, and future-ready course design
  • Nurturing growth — techniques to sustain learner momentum and support ongoing development

We’re especially looking for proposals that:

  • Offer practical takeaways people can use immediately
  • Connect your experience to broader trends in education and technology
  • Inspire new ways of thinking about learning design and delivery
  • Reflect on inclusive, scalable, and real-world approaches

Formats include

30-minute sessions – Presentations that are clear, focused, and designed to leave attendees with something they can apply right away. Hands-on experiences welcome.

  • Duration: 30 minutes (including Q&A, recommended 20 min talk + 10 min Q&A).
  • Proposal format: An abstract text of the presentation.
  • File submission: All accepted proposals will be asked to submit a PowerPoint file in advance of the conference.

Poster sessions – A chance to showcase your ideas, research, or projects in a visual format and connect with attendees in a more informal, conversational setting.

  • Poster presenters will be able to discuss their posters with conference attendees during the coffee breaks at a time scheduled in the program.
  • Proposal format: Abstract describing the poster content and approach taken, with an optional link to the draft version.
  • Final format: All accepted posters must be printed in A1 size to ensure eligibility and space. The presenter is responsible for printing.

The deadline to submit is Monday, 19 May 2025.
