The highly anticipated MoodleMoot Francophone 2023 is coming soon, taking place from 5-7 July, and it promises to be an exciting event for the French-speaking Moodle community. This year’s theme, “Designing the future of education with Moodle”, aims to inspire educators, developers, administrators, and all of those involved in the world of eLearning to explore the latest innovations in digital pedagogy.

Thirteen years after hosting the event for the first time, the University of Technology of Troyes will welcome MoodleMoot Francophone back to its campus. The university’s commitment to technological advancement and innovation makes it the perfect setting for this year’s event.

With a jam-packed schedule featuring three days of conferences, hands-on workshops, a roundtable discussion, and networking opportunities, this event is the perfect opportunity for nearly 500 participants to learn, share, and collaborate on shaping the future of digital education.

“The strength of MoodleMoot is to bring together a community of enthusiasts who take advantage of this meeting to share their experiences and enrich themselves with the aim of promoting student success,” said Dr Yann Verchier, Lecturer at University of Technology of Troyes.

MoodleMoot Francophone highlights

Presentations: The event will feature a series of 50 participant presentations and keynote presentations from experts in the fields of eLearning, digital pedagogy, and Moodle development. There will be keynote presentations from: 

  • Christelle Lison from the University of Sherbrooke on “Digital Technology and Teaching of Tomorrow”.
  • Jean Gabriel Ganascia from Sorbonne University on “AI and Education”.
  • Richard Hanna from the Interministerial Directorate of Digital Affairs on “Environmental and Societal Impacts of Digital Technology: How to Take Action?”

Participant presentations will provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the latest trends, technologies, and strategies shaping the future of education with Moodle. The sessions will include topics such as, “ChatGPT at the service of students in Education Sciences”, “Integration of gamification in a Moodle course”, and “Environmental and social impacts of digital, how to act?”

Workshops: Attendees will be able to choose from 16 different hands-on workshops, where they can learn practical skills and techniques for using Moodle more effectively in their educational settings. These workshops will be led by experienced Moodle professionals who are eager to share their knowledge and expertise. The themes will include key topics such as, “The H5p Branching scenario tool to script a teaching sequence” and “ABC Learning Design for scripting Moodle”. 

Demonstrations: The demonstrations will cover a wide range of topics, from gamification and social learning to personalised learning paths and assessment strategies. Attendees will have the opportunity to see firsthand how these innovative approaches can be applied in their own teaching contexts. The demonstrations will also provide a forum for participants to ask questions, offer feedback, and engage in dialogue with presenters and other attendees.

Networking opportunities: The Moot is the perfect opportunity for individuals with a common interest in Moodle to connect with like-minded peers. Participants can engage with fellow educators, developers, and users of Moodle from various institutions, fostering the exchange of innovative ideas and effective solutions.
