The Moodle App 3.9.3 comes with new enhancements for your learner’s mobile experience that enable them to work in even more activities from their phones or tablets. Let’s take a look at what’s new:
Upload files to Essay question directly from mobile devices
The Essay in Moodle Quizzes is a super versatile question type where you can ask your learners to upload one or more files as an answer, in the format that you specify. Whether it’s a photo of a handwritten assignment or a PDF document, now students learning from the Moodle App will also be able to upload files to these kinds of questions.
Notify your learners when they’ve completed a course
We all know what it’s like to be waiting for your teacher or instructor to grade that one last assignment that will mark your course as completed! If your site is updated to Moodle 3.10, you can now allow your students to enable a push notification that lets them know right away when they’re done with a course.
Optimise your learner’s data by controlling the types of files they can download
The Moodle App allows your students to download courses onto their mobile devices, enabling them to work on their learning materials and submit activities with no internet connection. With Moodle 3.10 and the Moodle App 3.9.3, Moodle administrators can control which types of files will be downloaded when a learner saves a course onto their device, so non-essential material will not be downloaded, saving your learners data usage.
Enhance learner security
Do you or your learners use a shared mobile device when learning on the Moodle App? To enhance the security for Moodle users, a new feature in Moodle 3.10 allows you to log out from the Moodle App through the web – so no one can access your Moodle account from a shared device if you’ve forgotten to log out, or from your device if you’ve misplaced it.
Support for the latest Choice and Lesson improvements
The Choice Moodle activity allows you to ask a question and provide answers for your learners to choose from, with the option of limiting the number of times that an answer can be picked. In sync with the recent release of the Moodle LMS 3.10, learners using the Moodle App will now also be able to see how many times each answer can still be selected. In addition, the Moodle App, like Moodle 3.10, now has a setting for the Lesson activity to have unlimited attempts.
