July 5, 2023 By Moodle

We are excited to announce that the latest version of our mobile app for Moodle LMS is now available on Google Play and Apple App Store!

It’s packed with important features designed to support data privacy, accessibility, and a better user experience.

Here are some highlighted features of our newest app:

End-to-End Encrypted Push Notification

We understand the importance of privacy, especially for institutions based in Europe adhering to GDPR. Our mobile application, developed in collaboration with Catalyst IT, now supports end-to-end encrypted push notifications.

WCAG 2.1 AA Accessibility Compliance

At Moodle, we strive to create inclusive and accessible learning environments for all users. Our team has worked closely with an independent, third-party accessibility expert to ensure that our Moodle LMS 4.0 complies with the latest Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) of the World Wide Web Consortium: WCAG 2.1 AA.

To further our commitment to accessibility, the new version of the app is now compliant with WCAG 2.1 AA standards. This compliance guarantees that our products are accessible to individuals with disabilities, providing equitable access for everyone to learn and grow.

Improved Consistency

To ensure consistency across our products, with this update, we’ve made significant improvements to provide a seamless experience. Here are three noteworthy enhancements:

  • H5P Activity “Save Content State” Support
  • Support for Database Template Fields in Moodle LMS 4.1 and 4.2
  • Course Page Improvements as in Moodle LMS 4.2, such as indentation and the new approach for activity names
