Moodle’s 15th birthday celebrations!

How time files! This year we celebrated Moodle’s 15th birthday with a global Moodle Party.
We also took the opportunity to reflect on how our open source learning platform has advanced and evolved over the last 15 years.

From that first original post where Martin Dougiamas worked on Moodle by himself, we now have over 40 staff at Moodle HQ, located around the world and of course, a global, supportive community of over 120 million registered users.

We look forward to celebrating many more birthdays with all Moodlers.

The term “Learn Moodle” now covers a whole new curriculum to learn how to teach online, of which our Basics MOOC forms the first stage. Our Moodle Education team has begun constructing training modules designed to follow the MOOC and to lead to new Moodle Teaching Certificates and a larger conversation around Teaching and Learning using Moodle.

In the meantime, you wouldn’t want to miss our first Learn Moodle 3.4 Basics MOOC, starting on 8 January!
