Reimagine the future of education at MoodleMoot Africa 2023, hosted by Unisa

July 19, 2023 By Barnana Sarkar

MoodleMoot Africa is coming in August! The three-day conference, held between 20–23 August, 2023, will be organised by Unisa, Africa’s largest distance learning institution providing diverse courses and degrees to empower students with accessible educational opportunities.

It is the perfect opportunity for Moodlers from all over Africa to come together and share Moodle best practices and knowledge to improve the quality of eLearning education and training in a globally connected digital era. This is also a special occasion for Unisa as they celebrate their 150-year milestone as Africa’s longest-serving distance university.

The theme of the event focuses on “reimagining the student walk/journey to achieve improved student success and best user experience in the post-COVID, 4IR era: The Moodle LMS perspective.”

Keynote speakers, such as Martin Dougiamas (Founder and CEO of Moodle), Prof. Pierra Biccard (Lecturer at Department of Curriculum and Instructional Studies, Unisa, South Africa), and Prof. Mpine Makoe (Commonwealth of Learning Chair in Open Education Resources/Practices and Research Professor in Open Distance eLearning, Unisa) will lead the sessions about best practices related to Moodle LMS implementation, pedagogy, course design and more.

Along with the sessions, there’ll also be plenty of opportunities to be involved.
