Sneak Peek at New Features in Moodle 3.7

Moodle 3.7 Release SneakPeak May2

The latest Moodle 3.7 release will be out in two weeks and we want to highlight some of the new features available and how you can use them to enhance your learning and teaching processes.

Enhancements in forums

Participating in forum activities within courses is now easier and more engaging than ever thanks to new functionalities like quick inline replies and the possibility to create a new discussion directly from the discussion list page, as well as improved accessibility. In Moodle 3.7, you can also sort discussions by date and number of replies, and star those most relevant to you so that you can always find them easily. A much requested new feature, Private replies, allows educators to give early private feedback in discussions.
The forum improvement is a project that has been fostered and funded by the Moodle Users Association – MUA.

Highly Customisable Classic theme

Moodle 3.7 new Classic theme provides a classic navigation structure and uses a 3-column layout where blocks can be positioned left and right of the main content. You can choose your background image and brand colours for your buttons, links and navigation bar to make your Moodle site look the way you want it to. If you are using custom presets, don’t worry: Classic is still compatible with Boost preset files.

Further support for Open Badges v2

Give your learners positive reinforcement that they are improving their knowledge and performance by awarding badges based on competencies. Moodle 3.7 also allows you to connect your Moodle site with the backpack so that your learners can take their digital credentials with them along their entire learning journey.
