On October 6-8, we hosted MoodleMoot US 2020 online, where over 450 educators, learning technologists and developers from the Moodle community and beyond shared good practices and strategies to create greater distance learning experiences with Moodle.
Our events team created an online venue, entirely built on Moodle Workplace, to provide delegates with dedicated areas to attend presentations, visit sponsors, interact with other delegates and build connections with each other.
“It’s great to be able to get the Moodle community together even if it’s virtually, and to see old friends and new faces, experienced Moodlers welcoming new ones, sharing experiences and working together to improve eLearning” Diego Fabra, Global Events Manager at Moodle HQ.
Creating great distance learning experiences
Over the 3 days of #MootUS20, teachers and trainers from universities, K-12 schools and businesses explained and demonstrated how they’re using Moodle and Moodle Workplace to support their teaching and learning processes.

Sharing the fun with the Moodle Community
Getting to meet our Moodle community and fostering relationships and collaboration between educators, developers and organisations to improve how we all use Moodle is always one of our main goals at MoodleMoots. So for #MootUS20, we set up a virtual café for Moodlers to chat to each other and organise meetings and network, and an online Quiz night where we all had fun together.
One of my favourite part of Online #MootUS20: the Networking cafe! 😍😍😍😍
You can't miss it (especially during the breaks) because there are a lot of interesting people!!
Nice to see you again and spend some time together, @farhan6318 😘 pic.twitter.com/phev8YSIYh— Sara Arjona Téllez (@sara_arjona) October 6, 2020

“At Moodle, we’ll keep striving to bring our community together to collaborate and make the Moodle LMS an even better platform to support teaching and learning for millions of people worldwide. We’re already looking into ways of making our online Moots even bigger and better and make them into a unique experience.” – Diego Fabra
