How Modern Classroom is saving 8 hours of work per week with Moodle’s help

When you aim to make learning more accessible, engaging and effective, you would want to rely on tools that significantly reduce any manual work, so that you get to focus on things that matter to your learners.

For Modern Classroom, creating an environment that responds to learners’ needs is a priority.  They are an innovative education company dedicated to transforming traditional learning environments through the use of digital tools and learner-centred methodologies.

However, to create an interactive learning experience for a learner base that is constantly growing, the company had to ensure that educators had the time and the resources to focus on creative quality courses. Which means they needed an LMS that would reduce manual labour, automate data synchronisation, and scale up according to the growing learner base.

The challenge

Modern Classroom uses Salesforce as their central system for managing learner information and programme data. However, keeping this system in sync with their Moodle platform was time-consuming and error-prone.

Educators had to manually report which quizzes they had graded using a form connected to Salesforce—but this information wasn’t available in real time. To improve accuracy, the team also used a workaround: downloading Moodle reports and importing them into Salesforce daily. This was more reliable, but the manual process took time and frequently caused errors that required troubleshooting.

Basic integration tools on the market couldn’t handle their specific needs—especially around syncing quiz results and learner activity. Modern Classroom needed a more flexible and reliable solution that would ensure data from Moodle LMS was accurately and automatically reflected in Salesforce, so their educators could focus on what matters most: supporting their learners.

The solution

Modern Classroom teamed up with Moodle Certified Integration, Myddleware, to build a customised connection between Salesforce and Moodle.

Now, when a new learner is added or updated in Salesforce, their Moodle account is created and they’re enrolled in the right courses automatically. This saves time and ensures learners can get started without delays.

Quiz results and learner activity from Moodle LMS are sent straight into Salesforce in real time. This gives educators up-to-date insights into each learner’s progress, without the need for manual imports or troubleshooting.

By automating these key processes, the integration reduces errors, boosts efficiency, and frees up staff to focus on creating high-quality learning experiences.

The result

As Vice President of Programs at Modern Classroom, Megan McGregor, shares:
“Myddleware helped us build the integration we needed. Their friendly, fast, and creative approach made the whole process a real success. We love working with their team!

Myddleware continues to save our team at least 8 hours of work per week! Our data integration is now so smooth that we literally do not have to think about it — if any issues arise (which is very infrequent), the Myddleware team lets us know ASAP and quickly resolves them with our team. We’re super grateful for their tool and stellar customer support!”

The results showed immense progress in the organisation’s functions.

  • Firstly, they saved at least 8 hours of work per week which was a major boost in productivity. It gave them more to focus on strategy and deliver high value work.
  • Data synchronisation errors reduced by 95% between Moodle quizzes and Salesforce.

To add to that Lucie Faure, Project Manager at Myddleware, said:
“The adaptability of the Modern Classroom team made our collaboration very smooth. Their fast feedback allowed us to iterate quickly and be even more creative in designing the workflows. Thanks to this project, we could fully leverage Myddleware’s potential, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in syncing Moodle and Salesforce.”
