Superdry boosts compliance to 97% while building a more engaging learning culture with Moodle

When compliance becomes complex, learning needs to be clear, engaging and easy to manage. With Moodle Workplace, Superdry improved visibility, increased compliance, and created a more flexible learning experience for its global workforce.

Founded in the UK in 2003, Superdry has grown into a global fashion brand, with more than 150 stores and 2,500 employees across Europe and the United States.

Alongside its strong online presence and global partnerships, the company continues to invest in its people, recognising that great learning experiences are key to maintaining quality, consistency and growth.

When compliance becomes harder to manage

Before introducing Moodle Workplace, Superdry relied on a basic LMS that struggled to keep up with evolving training needs. In particular, limited tracking and reporting made it difficult to manage compliance — an area that was becoming increasingly important as requirements grew more complex.

Without clear visibility into who had completed training and where gaps remained, managing compliance across teams became time-consuming and uncertain. The existing system also offered little flexibility, making it harder to expand learning beyond mandatory training.

Superdry needed a platform that could provide better oversight, support a wider range of learning needs, and adapt as the business evolved.

Building the right solution with the right partner

To move forward, Superdry partnered with Moodle Premium Certified Partner Titus Learning to implement Moodle Workplace.

The collaboration quickly became a key part of the project’s success. With a strong focus on open communication and shared goals, Titus worked closely with Superdry to shape a platform that reflected how the organisation operates.

The new LMS — initially launched as Shinpo (meaning “progress” in Japanese) and later rebranded as PeopleHub — was tailored to support a wide range of learning needs. It introduced automated compliance training and refresher pathways, alongside programmes focused on soft skills development.

Interactive content, powered by H5P, helped make learning more engaging, while the platform’s flexibility made it easier to expand and adapt over time.

As Nicole Kilius-Smith, Talent Development Manager at Superdry, explains:
“We’ve built really honest, open communication between Titus and Superdry. There’s a humanness to it, which, because I’m not a technical person, I needed. That real conversation around what we needed to do has been crucial to how our site has evolved and improved.”

From compliance to a more engaging learning culture

Since implementing Moodle Workplace, Superdry has seen a clear shift in how learning supports the business.

Compliance rates have reached 97% for head office staff — the highest level the organisation has achieved — supported by improved tracking and a more intuitive user experience.

At the same time, learning has expanded beyond compliance. A blend of in-person and digital experiences now gives employees more choice in how they learn, supporting different preferences and making it easier to engage with content at the right time.

The platform has also enabled Superdry to introduce more targeted learning, including soft skills development and content aligned with key initiatives such as Pride and Black History Month.

A platform that grows with the business

With a more flexible foundation in place, Superdry is now better equipped to respond to change and support its evolving workforce.

Looking ahead, the team plans to extend the platform to retail employees, streamlining compliance training and introducing on-demand learning for store teams. Expanding multi-language and accessibility features will also help ensure the experience remains inclusive for its global workforce.

With the right platform and partnership in place, Superdry continues to build a learning environment that supports both its people and its future.
